The Environment:
Healing Tree Yoga and Wellness Center has a new spacious hardwood floor classroom for instruction and workshops. Classroom temperatures will be comfortable
(not HOT) as any heat generated will come from within the individual. The facility is air conditioned for the summer season and heated for the winter season.

Levels:
beginner/Level I: This class is for absolutely anyone of any age, shape or size to experience the many benefits of yoga or pilates. No experience or flexibility required. Focus is on the correct positioning of basic postures within one’s own body, while using props to increase the freedom and mobility of the body while concentrating on the breath to quiet the mind.
Level II and Level III: For those looking for a more intense workout and challenge themselves to attain the next level in their practice. Considered an intermediate class for students with prior experience and knowledge of the basic principles and postures.
ALL Levels: This class is open to all (beginners and experienced alike) who wish to move at a pace that is comfortable for them to experience. Class intensity is gauged by the instructor taking into account the overall experience level and interests of the participating students.

Styles:
ashtanga yoga
For those who want a serious workout, ashtanga yoga offers a fast-paced series of sequential poses beginning with sun salutations. Students move from one posture to another in a continual flow and link movements to breath. This physically demanding yoga builds strength, flexibility, and stamina. Power yoga is based on ashtanga.
hatha yoga
Gentle movement and postures designed to reduce stress, increase self awareness, build strength & balance. The most common form of yoga practiced.
anusara style yoga
A relatively new form of yoga pairing strict principles of alignment with a playful spirit. Postures can be challenging but the real message is to open your heart and strive to connect with the divine in yourself and others.
vinyasa flow yoga
Poses flow from one to another in conjunction with the breath. We work on integrating breath and movement, awareness and alignment, strength and flexibility. A great workout!

PILATES, BELLY DANCING, TAI CHI, and NIA

Pilates
An exercise technique developed in the early 1900s, was once used mainly by dancers for injury rehabilitation and total body conditioning. In recent years, it's become a popular mainstream exercise. Pilates focuses on the alignment and strength of the muscles of the abdomen and back -- often referred to as the core muscles.

This safe and enjoyable class will open your eyes and heart to a terrific practice you can incorporate into your daily life. Classes are performed in a sequential series of up to 24 forms that build off previous class instruction.

NIA
